The alternator was putting off to much power to your battery causing the fuse box to melt. I had it preset once by replacing the fuse box and about a month later on it transpired once more and it was last but not least mounted, so I'm hoping. David K. reported

The purple wire that connects with the fuse box on the battery connector was negative. The metal just separated into two parts and there were not any melt away marks and we couldn't see a reason why it took place. Wendell R. explained
